Philosophy
Each of us experiences a unique physical and spiritual journey through life, so it stands to reason that each of us would experience a unique pathway to healing. Every day more and more people are learning that, just as there are many causes of dis-ease, there are many pathways to reaching optimal healing and wholeness.
Though many individuals are experiencing the benefits of yoga and alternative healing modalities, very few practitioners offer a broad range of services and wellness activities to promote healthy living.
At Healing Motion, I offer self-directed, natural solutions to manage the symptoms of stress that manifest as chronic pain, musculoskeletal issues, limited mobility, chemical addiction, anxiety and depression. Through yoga therapy, meditation, physical therapy and Ayurveda/nutrition classes, I offer individuals a variety of effective and holistic options to promote healing.
Experience
My 30+ year professional career has taught me that healing involves more than working with the physical body or making physical changes to an environment. I’m a very goal-directed individual with a strong desire to help others live healthier lives. I’ve pursued that desire throughout my life, first through a two-year Peace Corp term served in Yemen as an immunologist, then as a physical therapist working in a clinic setting, an injury prevention/ergonomic manager for a major metropolitan hospital system, and now as a therapist offering a variety of services.
Healing means “to make whole”; I’ve learned through experience that when the mind, body, and spirit work together the healing process can occur in a most amazing way. My background in physical therapy and ergonomics has uniquely qualified me as a yoga instructor and wellness therapist. My sophisticated understanding of the physical body enables me to tailor my yoga instruction to meet specific physical needs. I’m thrilled to be working with others to promote physical and emotional well-being.
